It was the first primitive site that Chinese archaeologists discovered, and it plays a very important role in the study and understanding of Chinese Neolithic culture. The discovery of a Xia Dynasty (c. 21st century-16th century BC) city site filled the gap in the history of China's early development of cities. It is open all year round from 8 am to 5 pm, free of charge.
